According to former Kumasi Asante Kotoko player, Sarfo Gyamfi, the leadership of the Hearts of Oak supporters had stated while watching the game that the referee who handled the game between Hearts of Oak and Kotoko at the Baba Yara stadium was very good.
The leadership of the Hearts of Oak supporters after the 2-3 defeat to Kotoko organized a press conference at the Accra Sports stadium chronicling how referees have been cheating Hearts of Oak since the start of the 2023-24 Ghana premier league.
At the press conference, the NCC leadership described Referee Collins Amoah as an agent who denied them the victory on the day due to some of the decisions he took in favor of Kotoko.
They claimed that 2 of the goals scored by Asante Kotoko should not have stood.
Sarfo Gyamfi in a sharp rebuttable to the press conference organized by the NCC noted that he is quite surprised at how the NCC leadership is now describing the referee after they lost the game.
Sarfo revealed that he was sitting close with the NCC Chairman and PRO of Hearts Oak Elvis Herman and Kobby Jones who during the game were arguing that the referee was very good because of the freekicks he was awarding Hearts of Oak.
“I was watching the game at the VIP with their NCC Chairman Elvis and the PRO, Kobby Jones. The referee was giving them so many fouls in front of the Kotoko’s 18-yard box and they were saying the referee was very good.
Now I’m surprised that they organized a press conference saying these things about the referee.
They should understand that in football, sometimes it can go for you and sometimes it can go against you. Last season when it was going against us some of us went to Antoa” Sarfo Gyamfi said in an interview with Joe Laka on Kessben TV.
