In yesterday’s matchday 14 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Accra Hearts of Oak fell short against their fierce rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko secured the crucial victory thanks to two goals from Steven Mukwala and one from Isaac Oppong. The Phobians’ consolation goals came from Martin Karikari and Linda Mtange.

While the Rainbow side suffered back-to-back losses and their second in their previous five games, Kotoko’s triumph was their fifth in all competitions and their fourth on the run.

Richmond Ayi, the goalie for Hearts of Oak, attracted all the attention on the field as his costly errors caused the Accra-based team to lose.

But after the game, a video of Ayi sobbing and second-choice goalie Richard Atta comforting him sparked debate on X on Atta’s importance.

Some Ghanaians on the X app questioned his level of fitness and how a top-tier club had someone with such a body because of his apparent protruding tummy and wide cheekbones.
