A/R: Juaben constituency delegates commend MP for Implementing Sustainable Initiatives

In a resounding tribute to Ama Pomaa Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Juaben and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, delegates from the constituency extended their heartfelt applause for her outstanding commitment to implementing sustainable initiatives.


According to the delegates, unlike some candidates who often prioritize monetary gains, Ama Pomaa Boateng has consistently focused on creating initiatives that stand the test of time. This commendation comes on the heels of Ama Pomaa Boateng’s latest venture, where she funded free robotics training for 124 students in the constituency, with a focus on Web Development and IoT. This substantial initiative aimed to equip the youth with skills crucial in the contemporary digital landscape, reflecting Ama Pomaa Boateng’s dedication to fostering lasting impact.


The graduation ceremony held on 24th November at the Juaben Methodist Conference Hall, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the MCE, Delegates, dedicated teachers, proud parents, and esteemed head teachers from various schools within the constituency. During the ceremony, the applauding delegates emphasized their appreciation for Ama Pomaa Boateng’s distinct approach to community development.
In a brief interview with some of the delegates, some of the Juaben Constituency executives and electoral area coordinators opined that, apart from the direct financial support Ama Pomaa offers to constituents, they admire her for her constant efforts to invest in sustainable initiatives. They lauded her foresight in recognizing the enduring value of projects that go beyond immediate gains and contribute to the long-term progress of the community.
Since 2012, Ama Pomaa has been recognized as one of Ghana’s distinguished parliamentarians who prioritize sustainable projects that empower individuals and contribute to the overall development of the Juaben Constituency. A female delegate who spoke with the news team expressed that the success of the free training program not only showcased the potential of the youth but also underscored the effectiveness of Ama Pomaa Boateng’s strategy in implementing initiatives that resonate with the constituents. “Some candidates come to us with fish (money) but Ama Pomaa brings us fish (money) and also teaches us how to fish by giving us sustainable jobs.
Ahead of the 2024 NPP Parliamentary Primaries, research conducted by Political Planners Think Thank has indicated that one of the formidable seats in the Ashanti Region is Juaben Constituency. On page 32 of the report, about 89% per cent of the constituents applauded Ama Pomaa Boateng for her visionary leadership and dedication to creating opportunities that extend far beyond the immediate horizon. 63% per cent of the NPP delegates indicated that Ama Pomaa remains a trailblazer in driving positive change through projects that not only uplift individuals but also contribute to the holistic development of the community.
“Affectionately known as ‘Obaanoa,’ Ama Pomaa has, over the years, demonstrated her commitment to the betterment of her constituents. Her philanthropic endeavours include the provision of scholarships, support for entrepreneurs to expand their ventures, contributions to community healthcare, and the facilitation of employment opportunities for numerous constituents.
During the funded robotics training initiative, Ama Pomaa inaugurated the Pomaa Tech Club. Alongside this, she generously granted one thousand Ghana Cedis to ICT Centers to bolster their operational activities. Complementing this financial support, Ama Pomaa contributed STEM Kits to the ICT centers, fostering a culture of continual practice and creating avenues for more children to partake in similar training programs.
In a further display of her commitment to technological advancement, Ama Pomaa distributed smartwatches and phones to the participants, enhancing their connectivity and access to digital resources. Looking ahead, in collaboration with the Juaben Municipal Education Directorate, she is poised to orchestrate a Trainer of Trainer (ToT) program for ICT teachers in the Juaben Municipality in the upcoming weeks. This initiative aims to ensure the sustained training of communities in Juaben, underscoring Ama Pomaa’s steadfast dedication to excellence in robotics education.
