Licensure exams needless: I’ll cancel it if I become President – Mahama
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, has reaffirmed his intention to abolish the teacher licensing tests if he wins the presidency in 2024.
The former president decided to do away with the tests because he claimed they were unnecessary.
As part of his continuing Building Ghana Tour, Mr. Mahama made the claim that teachers already take these tests at every level of their training while speaking at Wenchi in the Bono region.
“This is unnecessary. In our next administration, we will cancel the licensure exams,” he declared.
“We will abolish the obnoxious licensure exams for teacher trainees and restore the automatic employment of teacher trainee graduates. Let me state unequivocally that, no teacher trainee graduate will be denied posting or employment under the next Mahama government,” he stated.
