NETWET Supports Flood Affected Victims With Household Items

The Network of Women Entrepreneurs (NETWET), an Association of Women-led enterprises as part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) have donated assorted household items to the people affected by the Akosombo and Kpong dam spillage in the Volta Region.
The Association made the donation after a health walk Christened – Walk For Your Health under the theme “Promoting Visibility of Women-Led Enterprises in the Informal Sector” in collaboration with VTF programme in Accra.
Presenting the items at the premises of TV3, Madam Diana Appiah, President of NETWET said the plight of residents at the flood affected communities touched the heart of the Association and however compelled members to mobilize resources to support the victims.
According to her, numerous institutions have donated in cash and in kind and have challenged the Association to contribute its widows might to support the needs of the affected victims particularly women and children.
She thus explained that disaster can accidently affects anyone and therefore urged the society to come to the rescue of the people saying their support will help change and transform the lives of the affected people in their respective communities.
Madam Diana Appiah urged corporate bodies and benevolent societies to passionately respond to the call by government and the communities to come to the aid of the affected residents by putting smiles on their faces, adding that no amount of resources is too small in these challenging times.
She therefore appealed to government to set up counselling centers to help those who are experiencing trauma especially mothers and children as part of the effort to put behind their losses and live with a renewed hope.
NETWET with its motto, “Creative Links – Changing Our World”, run programmes such as life skills training, capacity building training, personal and business grooming, business coaching, mentorship and promotion of healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.
The Association basically opens up to women artisans, young female entrepreneurs in the informal sector, female TVET graduates including women entrepreneurs from all sectors of the economy to empower women in their quest to become successful entrepreneurs in their working endeavours.
