Dead body beaten by community youth who say the dead was a commotion maker on burial days
Some locals of New Abirem in the Birim North District thrashed and beat up a dead man who was believed to be in his late 30s and was identified as Abacha.
On November 8, 2023, a Wednesday, the incident took place. According to reports, the youth of the community and the security personnel misunderstood each other, which is why the youth vented more anger at the dead by beating him up.
Tweneboah Kodua, a reporter for Kessben FM’s Breaking News, clarified that a miscommunication was the source of their ire.
According to him, the dead who was known as Abacha was widely known for causing confusion during burials in the community and thus wanted to make a similar fashion on his burial day by the youth.
