How Akufo-Addo ‘Confronted’ Kyei Mensah Bonsu For Instigating ‘Ken Must Go’ Agenda

It has been revealed that President Akufo-Addo accused Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu of being behind aggrieved lawmakers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament who wanted the removal of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The Majority members were pushing for the removal of Mr Ofori-Atta from office for what they said were his incompetence and conflict of interest. They threatened to boycott the budget presentation but backed down on their demand after meeting the leadership of the governing NPP.

After a series of negotiation, they agreed with the president to have the finance minister move the motion for the budget and the appropriations made and see off the IMF program.

But information emerging indicates President Akufo-Addo in his first meeting with the Majority Leader over the matter told Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu he is informed he is the one behind the agitations.

This information was released by Citi FM/TV Presidential Correspondent, Sammy Wiafe on the Point of View program Wednesday.

He explained that it was after that meeting with the President that Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu held a Press conference calling for calm over the removal of Ken Ofori-Atta.

According to Sammy Wiafe, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is one one of the namez that may be considered as Bawumia’s Running Mate
