Players stay at Kotoko for 1 to 2 years & they turn into politicians -Ogum clears air about snub of senior players

Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Dr Prosper Ogum Narteh has cleared the air regarding his supposed snub of senior players from getting regular starts at the club.

Ogum has since been labeled as working with his preferred young players he recruited at his second coming to the Kumasi Asante Kotoko but the gaffer has explained his reasons behind the decision.

Speaking with the media at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the former WAFA coach told the media that his decision to use the youngsters is because of their hard work at the training grounds that merit them being chosen for games.

He touched on how some players at the club turn into politicians after a few years.

“I tell them that most of you are politicians. I know but I don’t want to mind you. Players stay at Kotoko for one to two years and they turn into politicians. They use the media to fight for positions to play.

But for me, you can never get me because I’m very strong-minded. It’s not what people say that I follow. If what you saying is right, moral values will force me to implement it but if it is not right, It won’t force me.

The fact that something is wrong and all of you are saying it is right does not make it right.” He said.
