It has come to the attention of the
leadership of Abbosey Okai spare parts dealers association and letters been circulated by GRA conducting a compliance and invigilation exercise.
Tomorrow, there is an intended demonstration and closing down of shops against GRA compliance and invigilation exercise which the association sees it as intimidation and disrespect.
Our members have always been law abiding citizens of Ghana living in peace and providing services to their fellow citizens so we don’t see the reason GRA has to invite their officers to come and sit in our shops from morning till we close just in the name of raising revenue for the government.
GRA office is now deploying various forms of intimidation, harassment and threat making in the name of raising tax.
Closure of shops tomorrow, every single shop will be closed down to send a signal to the government and GRA with their nuisance tax and revenue they have imposed on traders especially Abbosey Okai spare parts.
We call on all Ghanaians to speak out against this intimidation and harassment against traders and we demand proper review of tax policy, reduction of import duties, abolish certain taxes and levies on importation.
God bless motherland Ghana.
Signed
