Oppong Nkrumah to grace IAF Young Advocates Training Programme on June 26

The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi and former Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has confirmed his participation in the Inspired Alswel Foundation (IAF) Young Advocates Training Programme scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The high-level youth-focused initiative, organized by the Inspired Alswel Foundation, is designed to equip emerging changemakers with critical skills and knowledge to lead advocacy efforts and drive social transformation across Africa.

The programme will be held under the theme “Navigating Change: Youth as Catalysts for Social Transformation.”

The NPP lawmaker is expected to deliver a keynote address and interact with participants during a mentorship session. His presence, organizers say, will underscore the importance of youth leadership in shaping the future of the continent.

The training programme, which is strictly by invitation, will bring together a select cohort of young leaders from across the country and beyond for a full day of intensive sessions, practical workshops, and strategic networking. Participants will be trained in areas such as policy advocacy, media engagement, civic leadership, and community development.

Optimism

Ahead of the programme, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of IAF, Mr. Alswel Annan, has expressed optimism about the upcoming programme, noting that it forms part of the Foundation’s broader vision of nurturing a new generation of socially conscious leaders.

According to him, IAF’s goal is to build the capacity of young people to become bold and informed voices for change in their communities. “Having Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah join us is not only an honour but also a validation of the work we’re doing to support youth advocacy across Africa,” he stated in an exclusive chat.

Since its inception, the Inspired Alswel Foundation has been at the forefront of youth empowerment initiatives, offering training, supporting the less privileged in society, offering mentorship, and platforms for young people to engage with policymakers and development partners.

The June 26 training session marks a significant milestone for the Foundation as it expands its impact in the area of civic education and youth advocacy. Organizers have hinted at the presence of other notable speakers and resource persons from the fields of governance, academia, and civil society.

The event will take place at the AfCFTA (Africa Trade House) with invitations extended to a carefully selected group of youth leaders, partner organizations, and media outlets.
