Medeama SC move Champions League group games to Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi

Medeama SC will play its CAF Champions League group stage games at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Kessben Sports has gathered.

The defending Ghana Premier League winners will honor their group stage games in Kumasi but played their qualifying matches at Cape Coast Stadium.

The Baba Yara Stadium has been proposed as the location by the Yellow and Mauves for the group stages, according to a statement made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In Group D of the competition, Medeama will play the reigning champions Al Ahly SC, the champions of Algeria, CR Belouizdad, and the titans of Tanzania, Young Africans.

The team from Tarkwa will face Al Ahly in Cairo for their opening group match before welcoming Belouizdad to the Baba Yara Stadium for the second round.

The following home games are scheduled against Young Africans and Al Ahly, respectively.

The group stage matches for the CAF Champions League are slated to start on Friday, November 25, 2023, and end on March 1 and 2, 2024.

In their inaugural season in Africa’s top club league, Medeama will be relying on the Kumasi-based supporters to have a huge impact.
