Bantama market women urge cooked-food sellers to reduce prices as prices of foodstuff have come down
Market women in the Bantama market have pleaded with the food sellers to reduce their prices of food and increase the quantity of their food as the prices of the ingredients have reduced over the years.
According to them, the food prices have increased over the months meanwhile the foodstuff, the ingredients are abundant in the market thus prices reduced.
The traders claim that the prices of plantain particularly have reduced and are very accessible, but others claim that because of greed on the part of some individuals who buy from market vendors and cook them for sale has made the plantain food expensive to purchase.
They added that because plantains are affordable and widely available, food vendors should likewise in some ways improve the quantity of their plantain foods while decreasing their pricing.
The traders also lamented that Ghanaians should not bother the government with the hikes in food prices because it has nothing to do with the rise in plantain foods.
They appealed to the government to put some interventions in place to assist in lowering the food prices.
Speaking to Kessben news reporters, some of the market women explained their dissatisfaction.
