Disrespectful Ernest Addison should have personally come to receive our petition – Listowel Nana Poku
Listowel Nana Poku, the organizer of the Occupy Bank of Ghana (BOG) protest, has outlined why he believes Mr. Ernest Addison, the BOG Governor, displayed a disrespectful attitude.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM, he expressed his opinion that the governor of the bank should have sought permission from parliament before printing money.
They considered this lack of consultation disrespectful, as they believed the governor, Mr. Addison did not follow the law.
On Tuesday, October 3, the protest’s leadership submitted their petition to the governor. However, instead of the governor himself, the director of the bank’s security received the petition on his behalf.
According to Listowel, the act of Mr. Addison sending his security to receive the petition is considered disrespectful.
Listowel believes that the governor should have personally come to receive the petition instead of sending someone else.
Mr. Addison apparently provided an excuse for having a meeting with the IMF as the reason for his absence.
