I proposed Bawumia as running mate in 2008 & my love for him is unconditional, won’t disown him any day – Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi
The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi has reiterated his open declaration for Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia to lead the party in the 2024 general election.
According to him his love for Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia started in 2008 when the party was scouting a running mate for then-flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo.
Speaking on Kessben Maakye, Lawyer Hon Andy Appiah Kubi disclosed that he proposed Dr Bawumia for Nana Akufo Addo as running mate in 2008.
He underlined that Dr Bawumia wasn’t Nana Akufo Addo’s choice among other nominees and when he made the nomination it created confusion in the party but he stood by his words and later his choice was taken.
Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi underscored that his love for Bawumia has been unconditional since the vice president came to the party hence, this is not the time he will disown him and support different candidates to lead the NPP party.
Lawyer Hon Andy Appiah Kubi was one the key members who wanted the dismissal of the Finance Minister due to his abysmal performance but speaking on Kessben Maakye he said the performance of the minister is improving.
