BREAKING: Kwesi Appiah officially joins Sudan as head coach, granted permission by Otumfuo

Kwesi Appiah, a Ghanaian tactician, has been named the Sudan national team’s head coach and leaves Kotoko, the club has confirmed.

It has been approved for Kwesi Appiah to quit Asante Kotoko and take the coaching position in Sudan.

As the club’s technical director, Appiah was a member of the Asante Kotoko interim management committee, which was established by the club’s patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He is scheduled to fly to Saudi Arabia, where the Sudan squad will be staying in t because of the reoccurring unrest in Sudan, to start his duties as the team’s head coach.

The 63-year-old formerly served as the head coach of Khartoum Watani, a top-flight Sudanese team that qualified for the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup.

However, Kwesi Appiah is contesting to join the GFA Executive Committee board during the following administration.
