ECOWAS making effort to deal with widespread political instability & coup in Africa – Akufo Addo

President Akuffo has indicated that Ecowas is making strides in controlling activities that will undermine the peace and security in West Africa.

According to President Akufo Addo, activities such as political instability, coups, and terrorism are not threat to peace and security but also democracy.

President Akufo Addo made this known when addressing the 78th General Assembly of the UN in New York.

According to him such widespread political instability and terrorism in Saharal Africa is also posing an economic threat to Africa’s development.

He further urged all West African nations to embrace democracy to foster unity.
He said the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of the Ukraine war has only added to the pressure and anxiety on the youth.
