We will increase transportation fares if our roads are not fixed – Manso Nkwanta drivers
Drivers working in Amansia West precisely Manso Nkwanta have sent a strong caution to increase transportation fairs if their roads are not fixed for them.
According to them, they have been facing challenges working as drivers in the community because their roads are in a poor state which is really affecting their daily activities as drivers.
In an interview on Kessben FM’s Maakye with Akuoko Kwarteng on September 20, 2023, some drivers working in Manso Nkwanta expressed their distress saying that their leaders have not put in any effort to fix the roads for them which they are not happy about.
They mentioned that they are always obligated to spend their income on car maintenance of their vehicle regularly whenever they use bad roads because their cars end up being defective.
“We are really struggling because of these bad roads. We have families to take care of but if we always end up spending our income on car maintenance, how will we be able to take care of our families? Our passengers always complain when they board our vehicles and it sometimes takes as four hours to load passengers”.
They added that all their roads are damaged and potholes keep increasing each passing day therefore if they don’t see any improvement in a month’s time they will increase transportation fairs without government approval”.
“If the government is able to fix our roads for us, we will be comfortable and grateful but for now we are suffering”.
