Black Stars management committee chairman explains why clubless Dede Ayew has been invited for AFCON qualifying game

The management committee Chairman of the Black Stars, Mark Addo has asserted that the influence of the Black Stars Captain, Dede Ayew is too important for him to have been dropped in the 25-man squad to face Central Africa Republic.

The Squad list includes Dede Ayew who has been without a club in the last 3 months following his contract expiration with Nottingham Forest.

The vice president of the GFA, Mark Addo speaking on Kessben TV’s Midfield Action sports show underscored that the presence of Dede Ayew is very important considering his influence in the team regardless of the captain being unattached.

‘The technical team felt they needed him. This is not the first time an unattached player has been invited.

For me, I think his influence in the team and the support he brings on is important” Mark Addo said on Kessben Sports

The Black Stars face Central Africa Republic in Kumasi on Thursday, an all-important game, a victory for the Black Stars will reaffirm qualification for Ghana in the next AFCON.
