Amansie West District: Over 100 Teachers Including Police Commander, Health Director Awarded For Their Contribution

The Assembly member of Manso Abore Ebom electoral area in Amansie West District, Ashanti Region Hon.Elder Asare Brew as part of efforts to motivate teachers to remain committed to the educational sector.

According to him, it is working towards transforming education in his community, hence, when teachers are made to feel appreciated, it will go a long way to improve quality education.

He has awarded 112 persons which include 92 Teachers from both Public and Private Schools in his electoral area, the Manso Nkwanta District Police commander, Education Director and District Health director for their tremendous contribution and performance .

Hon. Asare Brew indicated that the role and sacrifices Teachers make in a society cannot be overlooked at.
The awardees were supported with gas cylinders and the eight (8) outstanding Teachers, long serving personnel also received 32 Inches TV sets in addition.
Eight (8) BECE students who had an admission to SHS were supported with GHC 1000 each for their preparations.
Speaking at the shirt ceremony to celebrate the deserving hard-working Teachers, Hon. Asare Brew who doubles as Amansie West District NADMO coordinator noted that motivating teachers will go a long way to create a robust education system and afford them to impact more on the children upbringing.
The program under the theme “Honouring our agents of holistic transaction” was graced by high profile dignities within and outside the District to make the Awards and Appreciation a success.

Speaking to the media after the presentation, the Assembly man of Abore Ebom electoral area Hon Elder Asare Brew who doubles as the constituency secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party and also Nadmo Coordinator in Manso Nkwanta constituency stated that teachers are very important in every community and their contributions to the development of this country is unmatched and for that matter there is the need to show appreciation to their work

He observed that the teachers in a remote areas face a lot of challenges such as accommodation, bad state of the school class room blocks, transportation, bad roads and lack of motivation.
Elder Asare Brew who is also the Constituency Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic party NPP expressed his disappoinment in the area of illegal mining which is affecting the education in the district, believe that much efforts should put in place discourage the students from engaging in galamsey.

Some of the awardees showed gratitude to him for this kind gesture by the Assemblyman.
