George Amoako confirms he won’t recontest for the GFA EXCO position, reveals why

Executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association, George Amoako has confirmed that will not be contesting to retain his position as a member of the executive committee of the Ghana Football Association in the upcoming GFA elections.

The former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko speaking in an interview with Kessben TV revealed that considering his age, it is time for him to take a bow from football to do other things.

He stressed that there are so much insults from the media to people who are in the whelm of affairs of football which forms part of his decision, not re-contest.

‘Yes, I said it. I won’t go for the EXCO position again. The EXCO is not the only way to help Ghana football, there are soo many other ways.

I’m aging now and I need to look after myself well. You the media insults too much and I think stepping aside elsewhere I will live long” – George Amoako said.

George Amoako contested for the GFA EXCO position on the ticket of Kumasi Asante Kotoko last four years. His mandate at Kotoko ended in 2020 and subsequently appointed at King Faisal as the General Manager of the club.
