Muslim Women In Teaching & SAAB Foundation organize 1st edition of Inter-Community Maths & Science Quiz (Photos)

The Muslim Women In Teaching (MUSWIT) Ashanti Region in collaboration with Sarki Abdulai Ali Barry Foundation (SAAB) organized the maiden edition of the MUSWIT Inter Community School Maths and Science Qiuz for Junior High School in Kumasi.

The Quiz is to continually harness education and acquire knowledge of the Zongo communities across the region.

The organizers seek to promote awareness in educating young people most especially young Muslim girls who perhaps get their education shattered in the process by early adulthood through marriage.

The maiden edition of the quiz has drawn young schoolchildren from communities across the regional capital to explore their intellectual gifts and knowledge gained through their educational journeys.

The session which began some months ago was held in about three faces drawing competitors and winners from each phase through to the grand finale.

Alhaji Abdulai Ali Barry ( Nkosuohene ) of Kumasi Zongo, the chief in-charge of development in the Kumasi Zongo having similar sentiments about developing his community through education was convinced by this initiative adding to his philanthropic ideologies to collaborate with the women’s body to promote the agenda for a common goal.

Alhaji Abdulai Ali Barry wholeheartedly funded the project through his SAAB foundation from the organizing stage down to the prizing stage seeking to create an impression that the girl child is the future of growth and development of our country.

The event was witnessed by representation from the traditional chiefs and Imams in the Zongo community.

Oforikrom community won the quiz by finishing first while Tafo Community came second with Abirem Community placing third and Buobai Community placing fourth.
