Black Meteors Chairman sets records straight about Kamaldeen’s snub to play for Ghana at U23 AFCON

Black Meteors Management Committee Chairman, Frederick Acheampong has cleared the air about Kamaldeen and Ransford Yeboah’s Snub To Play For Ghana at AFCON U23 in Morocco.

Speaking in an interview with Sir Joe Laka on Kessben TV’s Midfield Action sports show, the management committee chairman of the Black Meteors stressed that the Black Stars player was part of the plans of the technical team of the Black Meteors but had pulled out at the late hour for reasons best known to the players.

Frederick Acheampong noted that despite the challenges some prevailing challenges, the team will give it their all to bring honour to Ghana.

“Ransford Antwi was not in our plans because he had already communicated to us that can’t join. For Kamaldeen Sulemana, we were hoping for him to have been part of the team but he communicated later to the FA that he would not be able to make it.


Ernest Nuamah is confirmed. He will join the team tomorrow. There have been challenges but we will do our best to bring honor to Ghana” He said.

Ghana is in Group A with Congo, Morocco, and Guinea.  The Black Meteors will face Congo in their opening Group match on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, a day after the opening match of the competition.

Ghana will Play Morocco in the second on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 and play Guinea in the last group games.
