Akufo Addo had to involve himself for Kejetia Market to get 6500 meters, installation will be done before 2024 – MD of Kejetia Market
The managing director of the Kejetia Dubai Market, Kofi Duffour has revealed that about 90% of electricity meters have been received and set to be installed at the market.
According to him, the president, Akufo Addo had to get involved in the procurement of the 6500 meters.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye with Akuoko Kawrteng, Mr. Duffour asserted that the president could not remain oblivious to the difficulties facing market vendors and thus had to expedite procurement of the 6500 meters.
Duffour assured that by the end of the year, all the meters will be installed at the market for various shops in the market.
He noted that the authorities are currently at the pre-metering works which ought to be done before the installations.
“Everything is now in place. 6500 meters have been received now. The market needed 7346 meters so about 90% were received.
President Akufo had to personally get involved in the procurement of the 6500 meters because they were all worried about the situation. The Chief of staff, the Regional Minister, etc all listen and hear everything that is going on.
Now we are left with 846 meters and I’m confident by the end of the year, between November and December full installation will be done. Pre-metering work is currently being done. The installation will not be extended into 2024″ He said.
About 7500 shops at Kejetia market are hooked to one electricity meter. This has been a major headache for shop operators in the Market.
