MTN to make possible self-reversal of wrong MoMo transactions

According to MobileMoney Limited (MTN MoMo), the largest mobile money provider in Ghana, a self-service option for customer improper transfer reversals is currently being developed.

Customers who make erroneous mobile money transfers can easily undo them thanks to self-service reversal.

Either a transfer to the incorrect mobile wallet or a transfer of a larger sum than the sender intended could be the cause.

In order to prevent the scenario where the recipient of such incorrect transfers cashes out the money, the smaller telco-based mobile money providers Vodafone and AirtelTigo have each enabled self-reversal on their *110# short codes.

However, MTN, the largest mobile money provider and the one whose consumers fraudsters target the most has a laborious and lengthy procedure for undoing incorrect transfers.
