Betway leadership workshop for GWPL clubs ends successfully
Betway, the official development partners of the Women’s Premier League, has ended its final edition of the monthly leadership and development workshop for the 2022/23 season successfully at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The in-country session brought together key stakeholders in the Ghanaian women’s football circle for a day of insightful discussions and practical advice on leadership, governance, and skill development.
The highly anticipated workshop was graced by GFA President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku;General Secretary, Proper Harrison Addo; and General Secretary of the South African Football Association, Lydia Moyepao.
Other distinguished guests included officials of the Ghana Football Association, representatives from the Women’s League and FIFA development training officer and coach Faisal Chibsah.
Retrospection
A thorough retrospective analysis was made on all previous seminars conducted during the season with clubs been offered the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarity on pertinent issues.
The day was climaxed with a group case study where club representatives were divided into a group of five to brainstorm.
In the end, Group 5 emerged winners and were presented with sporting items, including warm-up kits, footballs and shopping vouchers. It formed part of the company’s effort towards developing women’s football in the country.
The mentorship training programme was created in collaboration with the GFA to equip, empower and inspire the development of women’s football in Ghana.
The leadership and development programme was organized by Betway in partnership with the Ghana Football Association in fulfillment of its mandate as Development Partners for the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
