Kumawu Election: NDC member took Ghc50 and voted for NPP – Yammin Alleges
According to Joseph Yammin, national organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a known NDC member allegedly stole Ghc50 from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to cast a ballot for the NPP’s candidate in the just concluded Kumawu By-Election.
He stated this while denouncing what he called vote-buying in the elections that took place on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
He claimed that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) example in the Kumawu elections was detrimental to Ghanaian politics and democracy.
Yammin is of the opinion that in the future, voters would demand money before casting ballots rather than criticizing the policies and programs required for the nation’s development.
“A known member of the NDC in Kumawu took Ghc 50 and voted for the NPP. When we confronted him he was bold to tell us that he is not wicked and that since he has taken money from the other side, there is no way he can vote against them,” Joseph Yamin said.
