Just In: Kotoko slaps winger Joseph Amoako with an indefinite suspension – Details and more
Joseph Amoako has received an indefinite suspension from Asante Kotoko due to gross behavior on social media.
A leaked recording on social platforms caused Amoako to be suspended from the club’s operations.
“Joseph Amoako, 20, has been suspended indefinitely pending a final determination through the club’s disciplinary procedures.”
“This is due to his misconduct on social media which the club finds unacceptable.” the club said on Tuesday 9th May 2023.
In November 2022, Amoako was held in Swedish Police custody until his court case after being accused of having sex with a juvenile.
In accordance with the terms of the contract with his parent club, Asante Kotoko, Helsingborgs IF terminated his loan arrangement owing to the rape claims before the contract’s expiration in January.
He is apparently the third Ghanaian football player, following Kingsley Sarfo and Kwame Bonsu, to be jailed in Sweden due to rape charges.
