Confirmed: Kotoku Royals relegated with 4 games to go

The first team to be demoted in the 2022/2023 season has been officially named as Kotoku Royals of the Ghanaian Premier League.

After losing two-nil to Accra Great Olympics at Sogakope yesterday, the Akim Oda-based club met this end.

Kotoku Royals needed a victory to increase their chances of surviving, but the loss guaranteed that their time in Ghana’s top division was gone.

The squad is now 15 points away from a safety spot on the table with four games left to play. They will still place last in the table even if they win all of their remaining games.

Kotoku Royals’ relegation comes as a big disappointment to the Eastern region’s football fans, who had wanted to see more of their home clubs compete in the top division following the club’s elevation last season.

After matchday 30 of the 2022-23 BetPawa premier league, Kotoku Royals are on the last position on the league table with 23 points
