Aisha Huang, a Chinese national known as the “galamsey queen,” was found guilty by the Accra High Court.
After changing her plea from not guilty to guilty on the allegation of illegally entering the nation despite being barred from entry, she was found guilty.
Aisha was found guilty by the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court, which is presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, following the execution of a plea bargain with the prosecution.
Aisha Huang changed her plea on the final charge after several months of trial, although she maintained her not guilty plea for the offenses including illegal mining.
Aisha was charged with engaging in the sale and acquisition of minerals without a permit as well as mining without a permit, together with three other Chinese nationals.
They are accused of engaging in the sale and acquisition of minerals as well as illegal mining.
To the charges, they all entered not guilty pleas.
Aisha Huang and the three Johng Li Huas, Huang Jei, and Huaid Hai Hun were brought before an Accra Circuit Court.
