Kumawu Youth Picks Form For Appiah-Kubi To Contest As MP

Teaming youth of the Kumawu constituency on Wednesday 12th April, 2023 thronged the NPP Constituency office in Kumawu to purchase a form For Chairman Kwame Appiah-Kubi (1st Vice Chairman of the Kumawu Constituency) to contest the upcoming Parliamentary Primaries towards the Kumawu Bye-Elections.

The sadden demise of Hon. Philip Basoah, the late MP for the Kumawu Constituency has left the youth and NPP in great shock. In the party’s quest to find a replacement for Hon. Basoah as the EC prepare for a bye-elections, the youth of the constituency have settled on Hon Appiah-Kubi as a perfect replacement for Hon Basoah.

The youth led by Freeman Adomako presented a banker’s draft of GHC 3,000.00 to the NPP Regional Secretary, Lawyer Adomako Appiah and Regional Research and Elections Officer, Nana Kofi Owusu to purchase the form for the upcoming parliamentary primaries slated for Sunday 23rd April, 2023.

Mr Freeman stated that, what motivated the youth to undertake this gesture was to demonstrate to the party that youth of Kumawu Constituency needs a young, vibrant and dynamic person to fill in the big vacuum Hon. Basoah’s death has created in the constituency. They prefer someone who has been with them always and identify with their challenges. “We believe Chairman Appiah Kubi is one of our own and a grassroots man who has been with us all this while and will not allow delegates to sell Kumawu to the highest bidder”, he emphasized.

Hon Appiah-Kubi in a radio interview on Angel 96.1 FM in Kumasi acknowledged receipt of the forms purchased for him and promised to work with the youth and for the youth in KUMAWU. He pledged to them his cardinal vision for the people of KUMAWU is hinged on UNITY, SERVICE AND DEVELOPMENT.
