Kotoko slip to 10-men King Faisal in a 0-0 draw at Baba Yara, fans react (Video)

Champions Asante Kotoko and King Faisal drew 0-0 in their betPawa Premier League match at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors went into the game hoping to maintain their strong run under interim coach Abdulai Gazale, but that didn’t happen as King Faisal put up a valiant performance to earn a point in front of a raucous crowd in Kumasi.

King Faisal, who were led by new manager Ignatius Osei-Fosu, opened the game brightly, looking solid at the back and creating some decent chances through former Porcupine Godfred Asiamah and David Oppong Afranie.

Asante Kotoko later gained control of the game with some impressive football, but the host side was unable to capitalize, and the first half finished goalless.

The Reds dominated possession and showed determination to break the deadlock early in the second half, but their efforts were futile as the visitors maintained a disciplined backline to keep their attackers at bay.

In the 76th minute, King Faisal were reduced to ten men after midfielder Abdul Latif was sent off for getting his second yellow card of the game.

Despite being down a man, King Faisal fought valiantly and came away with a valuable point in their fight against relegation.

The win extended King Faisal’s unbeaten streak to three games after coming from behind to defeat Karela United 3-2 on Saturday and sealing a crucial win over Accra Lions (1-0).

Kotoko are now fourth with 39 points, 5 points behind leaders Aduana FC, while King Faisal are 11th with 32 points, three points above the relegation zone.
