Maa Korkor Donates To Atiwa West Muslim Communities
The philanthropist, Lawyer Laurette Korkor Asante, popularly known in Atiwa West as Maa Korkor, on Sunday, 2nd April 2023, donated over two hundred bags of rice and sugar to the Muslim communities in the Atiwa West Constituency/District, to aid in their fasting and prayers for the Constituency and Motherland Ghana.
Presenting the items to the Kwabeng Zongo Chief, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, at Kwabeng, Maa Korkor commended the high level cohesion between Muslims and other religious groups in the Constituency.
Further, Maa Korkor advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used by extremist groups who are trying to infiltrate Ghanaian Muslim communities to indoctrinate the youth.
Speaking on behalf of the Muslim communities, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, recounted some of the numerous support and opportunities Maa Korkor has given to the Muslim communities in the Constituency including sponsoring three (3) devoted Muslims to Mecca last year, scholarships and jobs for students and youth from the Muslim communities.
Alhaji Ibrahim thanked Maa Korkor for her benevolence and advised her to keep investing in the youth, as a definition of human existence.
On his part, the Atiwa West Constituency Deputy NASARA Coordinator, Alhaji Yussif Adam, urged Muslims in the Constituency to pray fervently for Maa Korkor to make her vision for the Constituency come into reality.
In her concluding remarks, Maa Korkor pledged to continue to support the Muslim communities and the youth in areas such as community development and capacity building.
