Tema West municipal Assembly complete 98,% of 2022 Annual Action Plan
The Municipal chief Executive of Tema West Anna Adukwei Addo has said 2020 Annual Action Plan had a total of ninety budgeted activities which 98 percent of these Planned projects and Programs have been implemented. Speaking at Public Financial Management Town Hall meeting at John Bosco Catholic church in Community 2 , the municipal chief executive said the Assembly used about sixty percent of it’s financial resources from the Internal Generated Funds (IGF) to improve it’s infrastructural delivery and sanitation services within the municipality which includes Completed 2 storey 12 unit classroom block with ancillary facilitates at Adjei Kojo, Police Station at community 14 Regimmanuel, construct 3 – units classroom at the Star Basic School in community 5 and other important works and projects.
In respect to total Revenue generated the assembly target of twenty – three Million Ghana Cedis ( Ghc 23,000, 000) , the assembly was able to realize about 87 percent making it a commendable feat according to the report presented by the assembly.
She said ” we seek to deepen our revenue collection drive by enhancing our data collection, installation of new pay points and intensify our public education and sensitization programs .
In an effort to construct of Model School and Library/ I.C.T Center within Community 2 zonal Council, chief executive Anna Adukwei Addo indicated that the Assembly intend to engage Businesses within the municipality raise revenue to start the projects .
In solving some of environmental challenges facing the municipality, she said the Assembly has partner Asaase Foundation to construct a recycling factory at Adjei Kojo to help address waste management issues facing the Assembly.
She said ” one of the things I was so enthused about was that most of women who were not working a lot of them were engaged and trained , we went to schools and even some of school pupils were trained that when see plastic is Money and we have trade in every Saturday, this is giving the women money and this has really helped.
She added that the program is brings the Assembly to the point of Accountability and Transparency since the assembly collect tax form the Public it is important the assembly explain how the funds are used and which projects and also help the assembly to know what is happening within the municipality.
The program shaw the attendance of of Traditional leaders , Assembly members, work of the Assembly and some members of public. Different Questions and Suggestions were made which the assembly promise to work on those that assembly funds can work on .
