Social media insults by Kotoko fans bring nothing to the club, let’s fix our home issues – Ali Maradona
Chief Supporter and a former management member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Alhaji Ali Maradona has called on the fall and rank of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to spend more time addressing their own issues than mostly taking to social media to cast aspersions on others.
Ali Maradona speaking on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action stressed that instead of taking to social media to blame others for the shortcomings of the club, there should be a unifying move to address some of the glaring issues which ought to be fixed themselves.
In the past few weeks, a section of Asante Kotoko supporters have taken to social media attacking referees, the media, and GFA officials, claiming these groups have set an agenda against them.
Some Management members of the club including the CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah recently went on a Twitter rampage throwing shades at the Ghana Football Association.
“Sometimes if you say something, some people will be on social media insulting and attacking you. Kotoko supporters we don’t know social media oh. The shoeshine guys, the people at the market are the ones who come and pay and watch Kotoko games, not Tiktok and the Facebook people.
If you insult me on social media, I’m even happy. I don’t really care about those insults but that won’t add anything to Kotoko. It won’t help Kotoko.
Kotoko is huge. What has changed now? Do you now see Kotoko ladies? No. Do you now see AKOPA? No. Ask yourself why circles do not meet again. They don’t go to meetings because the leaders are not there. Let’s fix our home issues” Ali said.
