Police arrest ‘Diehuo’ seller for cooking with coal pot at Kejetia Dubai market (Video)
The president of the Federation of Kejetia traders Nana Akwasi Prempeh has confirmed that police has arrested another trader caught by cooking at the ground floor of Kejetia market yesterday with a coal pot.
Kejetia market was closed down a week today following the fire outbreak which was caused by a trader using a cylinder that sparked the flames but the market has been opened to the traders due to the vice president’s intervention.
A similar act happened yesterday right after the market was opened. According to Nana Prempeh, the trader caught was a “deahuo” seller who was using coal pot to reheat her soup for market at Obuasi – Manso lorry terminal.
He narrated that she was quickly picked by the safety authorities of the market and later handed to the police after other traders reported the incident. Nana Prempeh stated that such trader do not even has the permit to sell in the facility.
He indicated that the traders of the market is ready to ensure that they comply the directives of the market to help their own well being so they won’t shield traders who will abuse the directives.
Speaking to Hon Akuoko Kwarteng on Kessben maakye show, Nana Kwasi Prempeh expressed dismay and condemned the act. The Kejetia Federation president further entreated the traders to refrain from unirating at unauthorized places at the market.
