CADEG Joins Ghana Shippers Authority to help advocate for the development of the automobile industry

The chamber of Automobile Dealership Ghana CADEG has joined Ghana shippers Authority to help advocate the development of the automobile industry in Ghana.
Last month, the chamber officially introduce it’s leadership to the shippers Authority and propose to the Authority on some standard operations procedure (SOP) that the stakeholders in the automobile industry can adopt to check the issue of “Stolen Vehicles” imported into Ghana to help protect innocent Ghanaians that import vehicles into Ghana.

In an effort to engage and depends the relationship among various committees in the automobile sector, CADEG took part in the first quarter meeting of Accra shippers committee to help address some of the challenges facing the automobile sector in Ghana. Leading the delegation from the chamber was the president of the chamber Nana Adu Bonsu ( NABUS motors ) , Mr Eddie Kusi Ankomah ( Erata Motors) vice chairman, Mr Vincent Ayertay national coordinator and Mr George Dumenu Executive Secretary who is also Accra shippers committee secretary.

Speaking at the committee meeting, CEO of Erata Motors and vice chairman of CADEG Mr Eddie Kusi Ankomah seek clarification on tax exemption presentation by Ministry of Finance representative Mr Emmanuel Mensah especially the process businesses go through before getting tax exemptions. Mr Eddie said ” Article 14, 15 and 16 of the tax exemptions policy needs more explanations so that local businesses can benefit from the money” .
The chamber of Automobile Dealership Ghana CADEG in collaboration with customs, CID, Interpol, GSA, shippers Authority are in a process forming a team to prescribe ways in which the nation can take solve some of the challenges facing the automobile industry especially the issue of “Stolen Vehicle”s imported into Ghana.
