Premier League unveil shortlist for February Player of the Month
The Premier League have published their six-player shortlist for February’s Player of the Month award.
January’s winner, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, has been nominated once again and is among the favourites to win the prize for a third time this season after bagging five goals in four games for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Rashford scored in each of his four appearances in February, including two victories over Leeds, a triumph over Crystal Palace and a two-goal haul against Leciester City to cap off an undefeated month for United.
Competing with Rashford for the award is Tottemham right-back Emerson Royal, whose stunning resurgence in the wake of Pedro Porro’s arrival in January was a real sight to behold.
The Brazilian formed part of a defence that kept clean sheets in victories over Chelsea, Manchester City and West Ham, even scoring against the latter.
Leicester striker Kelechi Iheanacho is also up for the award after an impressive individual month which saw him score two and assist three in just four appearances for the Foxes.
Fulham are the only side to manage two nominees for this month’s award, with goalkeeper Bernd Leno and winger Manor Solomon both making the cut.
Solomon has excelled in recent weeks, scoring in three successive substitute appearances as the Cottagers continued their impressive form.
Finishing off the list is Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, who also scored in each of his four appearances in February.
Fans can vote for their favourite over on the EA Asports website until Monday 6 March, with a panel of experts also helping to decide the eventual winner.
