PUFA to be Inaugurated On 7th Feb 2023

Private University founders Founders Association (PUFA) Ghana, an association of owners, founders and chancellors of private Universities in Ghana, is set to inaugurate the association and elect its executives in Feb 7, 2023.

Founders and chancellors of private Universities in the country have met to form an association to champion their cause and growth. The meeting brought together ten private Universities owners and chancellors who pledged their commitment to form the association.The team was set to adopt a name, logo and constitution in two weeks as they reconvene on January 27, 2023 to agree on foundational issues, including maiden elections of leaders. The Chancellor of the Wisconsin International University College Ghana, Dr Paul Kofi Fynn said the Association will adopt it’s constitution and logo on the day. The Chancellor said the inauguration will mark the commencement of the operations of the group. He said, they had only adopted the groups name and we’re looking forward to finalize constitutions with members on the remaining details of the group formation.They faced a myriad of challenges, hence their resolve to form an Association to tackle them.He added that the association would be mouthpiece of private university chancellors in the community to champion the interest of their universities. The Dr said fifteen private Universities owners were part of the Association, added that others would join when operations begin. Dr said the association would offer them a united front to enable them to influence the formulation and implementation of government policies on tertiary education. He continued that the association would have its interim office at the Wisconsin international university college Ghana until it’s fully registered and operations.
