GFA resolves to allow GFA presidents to serve for 3 terms – Details

The Ghana Football Association’s Statutes Review Committee has proposed increasing the presidential limitation to three terms in office, Kessben Sports has gathered.

Per the updated statutes of the Ghana football association in 2019, a president for the Ghana football association can only serve for a maximum of 8 years in a period of 2 terms.

Prior to the new statutes, GFA presidents had had no time limits in serving as the GFA president as the former president of the GFA, Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi served for 13 years.

After the proposal was discussed at the GFA executive committee meeting last Wednesday, sources say the football association is furthering with a letter to FIFA for Approval.

The Ghana Football Association reckons just as executive committee members of the Football Association have no time limit of serving more than 8 years, the president of the Association should also be made to least have a limit of three terms.
