1D1F, AfCFTA, Others are My Ideas With Otumfuo’s Support – Alan Kyerematen
Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen former Minister of Trade and Industry and NPP flagbearer aspirant has underscored that NPP flagship programme one District one factory is his own innovative idea to support Ghana businesses and industries.
Amongst others Hon Allan cash remarked that the introduction of African Continental Free Trade Area is one of his idea which has been spectacular success by the support of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He disclosed to Mr Speaker of Kessben FM in an exclusive interview as part of his visit in the Ashanti region on Tuesday 31st January 2023.
Hon Alan Cash made these remarks when responding to the host question for his contribution to the government as former cabinet minster. He explained that he initiated District industrialisation programme in all the districts of the country under former president John Kufuor’s administration.
Hon Alan Cash stated that since the NPP lost the elections in 2008 to late Professor John Atta Mills, the programme was not continue by the successive government. He Added that it is the District industrialisation programme which gave birth to 1D1F.
He maintained that 1D1F has been fruitful during his outfit as Trade and Industry minister. The NPP flagbearer aspirant reiterated that 296 projects under 1D1F are at various stages of completion which Ashanti region alone benefited 46 of the factories.
Citing his readiness to support the local industries, Hon Alan Cash underlined that he has begun what he called Greater Kumasi Industrial city which had received funding from World Bank and other sponsors partners for implementation.
