Hunger is Killing Us: NPP Radio and TV Communicators go on strike
Members of the communication team of the Ruling New Patriotic Party are embarking on strike effective Monday 30th January 2023.
Adam Abdul Rahama Sabo, the Greater Accra director of Communication for the party speaking on Kessben Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi said there have been some financial problems regarding the money for the communicators as they complained overtime of lacking money for transport.
“Moving around has not been easy for them. It’s got to do with Money issues for their transportation as they move around. Sometimes they get calls to come to the radio stations but they will call you and say they have no transportation money
We wanted to solve the issues amicably but it’s quite unfortunate it had to come out like this”
He added that the executives have since engaged the communicators after their announcement to back off the strike.
“Since we elected the new national executive we haven’t received any monthly allowance. They used to give us GHc1000 but the money is not coming anymore. We didn’t even receive anything for Christmas; hunger is killing us while we are on radio and TV defending their corrupt deals with empty stomachs” One of the communication team members apparently said on GhOne Tv.
