GUM gears up for victory in 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections
The Ghana Union Movement (GUM) has announced that the party have put in place the needed resources and the structures as well as a working governance plan to win the seat of government in the upcoming general elections in 2024.
According to the movement, the ruling NPP and the opposition NDC have both failed to meet the expectations and needs of Ghanaians therefore GUM will be rolling out policies and programmes to help transform the country from its current economy crisis.
The Founder and Leader of Ghana Union Movement, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews said plans are far advance to wrestle power from government as the party is set to roll out policies and innovative to bring back state-owned enterprises and revamp the said institutions.
At the educational front, he said the party will embark on reforms and focus a lot more on TVET to enhance skills development and unearth the talents as part of the efforts to make the youth entrepreneurial driven in all their working fields and endeavours.
According to the party, nationalisation of industries will be the main agenda of GUM government and explained that state-owned enterprises being managed by private companies deny the central government of taking the required revenue for developmental projects.
“GUM will administer a moderate size of government which saves cost in governance structure”, he stressed adding that government in these regard will save a lot of money and other resources for developmental projects.
Rev. Kwabena Andrews said GUM government will judiciously manage the nation’s purse and all regions across the country will receive a fair share of the national cake adding that revenue collection from the requisite institutions will be properly monitored to enhance the financial growth of the country.
“Engaging the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will not be part of our governance systems”, he said and explained that the party will strengthen institutions to avert corruption and misappropriation of state resources and funds” he added.
