E/R : Concern Youth Of Akyem Asafo Calls For Unity And Development
The Concern Youth of Akyem Asafo in the Abuakwa South Municipal area on January 6, 2023 inaugurated their new Association dubbed ” CONCERN YOUTH OF AKYEM ASAFO” Speaking to the President of the Association, Mr. Gordon Apenteng explained that, the Association which was formed early this year is to bring the indigenes of Akyem Asafo home to collectively rebuild their community.
According to Mr. Apenteng, the association has noticed that, all the 5 Government Schools in the area lack Canteens where students will be comfortable to eat after break so the Association has taken it upon themselves as a task to put up a structure which will serve the school.
He noted that, before any development can go on , it needs committed and hardworking people to steer the affairs to facilitate the course of development.
Mr. Apenteng used the opportunity to once again, invite people from all walks of life to come in aid of the association to develop the Akyem Asafo Community at large.
Mr. Gondon Apenteng adviced the youth of Akyem Asafo to desist from hard drugs which is destroying many of the youth in the area .
He noted that, many of the youth have become very weak , arrogant and Stubborn all because of hard drugs and also that they should desist from quick money making to bring harmony, peace and unity among themselves..
The Assembly member and Presiding member of the Abuakwa south municipality Mr. Ofori Atta also noted that, the Association has come to stay, so he urged all stakeholders to come to the aid of the community ( Akyem Asafo).
He said, government is doing it’s part when it comes to development but every community is also supposed to organize something that can bring development in the rural areas , so he is appealed to the indigenes of the area to come home to support every developmental projects that will be embarked .
He also thanked the leadership of the Association for their immense support and contributions to make the program successful.
Mrs. Anita Ampofoa Amoako Gyimah, a patron to the Association also Expressed her gratitude to the entire leadership and commended their efforts.
According her , the association will go a long way to drum home the need to revisit your community and seek for development, she said many people do not want to give back to the society because of superstitions and other vices but it is high time Ghanaians reason up to rebuild their own societies in so doing, there will be more development in our country as a whole.
Mrs. Anita Ampofoa used the opportunity to advise the upcoming Youth of Akyem Asafo to be law abiding and hardworking people.
Mr. Patrick Owoahene the general secretary and also the brain behind (Originator) of the Concern Youth of Akyem Asafo also Expressed his profound gratitude to Lawyer Obaatanpa Gloria Ofori Atta a great member of the Community, Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea and some other dignitaries for gracing the occasion.
He noted that, the dream that was discussed some days back has come to reality and for that matter, he will use all means to mobilize the Community to fight for a common goal .
He said that, the Association will continue to organize a home coming every year to bring it’s member and the Community together and gear towards it’s development.
He then used the opportunity to appeal Other stakeholders to come back home especially those abroad to support build the Community together.
