Chris Hughton didn’t sign a year contract with the Black Stars – Henry Asante Twum clears the air

The Communication director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has debunked media reports that the newly appointed head coach of the Black Star, Chris Hughton signed a year contract with Ghana.

Henry speaking on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action noted the claims by a section of the Ghanaian media about the contract duration of the former Tottenham player are wrong.

‘The one-year purported contract with him is not true. Every coach that has coached in the EPL is a member of the Premier League Coaches Association and per their rules, our contract was referred to the Coaches Association’s Legal team in England to look through and get back to us.

They made some recommendations and we also made some changes and that was it. At his unveiling in Kumasi, more light will be thrown on that. He said.

Ghana Black Stars will host Angola at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Thursday in the opener of the AFCON 2024 qualifiers.
