Bawku Unrest: BDA National President Alhaji Gutare Calls For Cease-Fire

The National President of the Bisa Development Association (BDA), Alhaji Musah Gutare has urged the two factions in the Bawku ethnic fight to cease fire and allow peace to prevail in the area.

He said the Kusasis and Manprusis are the same people so there is no need for any misunderstanding which has resulted in the ethnic conflict.

Speaking at the Bisa Sukuma 2022 gathering at jubilee park Kumasi in the Ashanti region, with the theme ‘maintaining our cultural identity as the true Path to unity and progress’, Alhaji Musah Gutare added that Bisa tribe in Bawku is not part of the two ethnic fight but due to the unrest they have killed Fifteen innocent members of Bisa which he described as an unfortunate.

Alhaji Gutare used the occasion to advise all Bissa members in Bawku to stay away from the conflict.

Hon Bawah Mohammed Braimah MP for Ejura in the Ashanti region and member of the parliamentary select committee on defense and interior who was part of the program blame the government for not paying much attention to the Bawku ethnic conflict.

He said the government has all the security at its disposal that it can use to stop the Bawku conflict. He continued that in every situation of the Bawku ethnic conflict parliament allocated funds to all the ministries in charge to make sure that peace prevails in Bawku yet to no avail.
