70% of divorce cases in Ghana are caused by sex issues – Lawyer Anthony Osei-Poku
Professional legal practitioner, Anthony Osei-Poku has reiterated that sex is an integral part of ensuring a successful marriage.
The professional lawyer with a practice of over 30 years of experience speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye with Sammy Adu Boakye revealed that out of 10 divorce cases he handles, 7 of the cases are issues which are got to do with sex.
The lawyer blamed the prevalence of social media as part of the reasons which turn adversely give too much pressure on some couples regarding some of the fake things they might have seen on social media.
According to him, most marriage counselors have also failed on the subject of sex in marriages.
“Let me chip in this, the number one cause of divorce if you really listen well is not about properties or something. The bottom line is mostly about sex.
Out of 10 cases I handle, 7 of them are about sex issues. The sex too is based on what they see on social media but in reality, it is not about that.
Sometimes I blame the pastors. They don’t counsel couples well about sex. Even when they talk about it they feel shy to stress much about that. Sex is an integral part of marriage”. He said.
