Ofosu Ampofo is not afraid of a contest against Asiedu Nketiah, when it’s not broken you don’t fix it, it’s a needless contest
Member of the Chairman Ofosu Ampofo’s campaign team, Bernard Oduro Takyi has reiterated his boss’s position that it is needless for Asiedu Nketiah to contest the incumbent chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
Chairman Ofosu Ampofo speaking in a recent interview said in his personal opinion, it is needless for the General Secretary of the party to contest him at this material period.
The Council of Elders of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) apparently called for calm and decorum between the two contestants ahead of the party’s chairmanship race but it appears the calls fell on deaf ears as there have been a lot of shades thrown from both camps.
Asiedu Nketiah’s camp reckons some members of Chairman Ofosu Ampofo’s campaign team have been denigrating Asiedu Nketiah out of fear.
Bernard Oduro Takyi, a strong member of Chairman Ofosu Ampofo’s campaign speaking with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben TV stressed that Chairman Ofosu Ampofo is never afraid of being contested by Asiedu Nketiah, however, the contest is just needless at the material moment considering the focus of the party to recapture power from the NPP in 2024.
The national executives elections of the National Democratic Congress comes off on 17th Dec 2022.
