Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku has called for unity and calm following the Black Stars squad announcement ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In-form Joseph Paintsil, Jeffrey Schlupp, Ransford-Yeboah konigsdorffer  and Majeed Ashimeru were also not included.

“All the negativity around the Black Stars team, must stop. Let’s be positive. Let’s rally around the flag and let’s make our dear nation great and strong,” Okraku said.

Black Stars are set to camp in Abu Dhabi, where they will play their final pre-tournament friendly against Switzerland on Thursday, November 17.

Ghana face Portugal in their World Cup opener on November 24. They are joined in Group H by South Korea and Uruguay.

The four-time African champions have set a semi-final target.
