It is not fair to invite Jeffrey Schlupp & drop players who played in the qualifies – Rabiu Mohammed

Former Black Stars midfielder Rabiu Mohammed reckons it is discriminatory to drop players who play in qualifies of tournaments and be dropped later for the main tournaments.

Rabiu Mohammed reacting to the issues revolving around the snub of Crystal Palace left back from the Black Stars squad for the Qatar 2022 Worldcup stressed that the coach got his decision right.

Speaking on Kessben FM’s Kick Off sports show, Rabiu noted there is no doubt that the Crystal Palace player is a good player but having not played for the Black Stars in about 8 games makes it difficult for the coach to select him for such a tournament.

“It is not surprising looking at the qualifies. Jeffery is a good player, he is in a good form and all that but look at the qualifies that were played, Jeffery was out of the team for about 6-8 games.

Even though he has good form it will be difficult for the coach to select him and drop someone who played in the qualifies.

He will know and understand the player who he has been with well, has been with him at the camp, etc. Because Jeffery has form so someone who played in the qualifies should be dropped for him to be selected, I think that one is not fair” He said.
