Afriyie Barnieh was invited on compassionate grounds, Same must be extended to Danlad to get the support of both Kotoko & Hearts – Franko Naro
Senior sports pundit with Kessben FM/TV Frank Owusu Ansah reckons Afriyie Barnieh was selected in the Black Stars squad for the 2022 Qatar Worldcup on the grounds of compassion.
Naro speaking on Midfield Action with Sir Joe Laka stressed that the same compassion which informed the decision to have included the Hearts of Oak player should have been considered to select Danland Ibrahim in the Black Stars squad for the Worldcup.
Franko Naro who fully second the decision to have Afriyie Barnieh in the Black Stars Squad added that on fairgrounds, the Kotoko Goalkeeper should have also been in the squad.
According to him based on the compassionate grounds of picking Afriyie Barnieh, it will be prudent to also have Danlad Ibrahim in the squad to get the support of both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of fans to throw their weight behind the Black Stars Worldcup campaign.
The Black Stars head coach will officially announce the squad for the Worldcup on Monday.
Early reports in the week had it that there was no home-based player in the 26-man squad but after some backlash from the sports media in Ghana, another report emerged stipulating that Afriyie Barnieh has been selected among the 26-man squad for the Worldcup.
